NOW Foods Borage Oil provides about twice as much GLA as evening primrose oil – 240 mg per softgel. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid that the body can make from linoleic acid, but it is found preformed in only a few plant seed oils. The oil is expeller-pressed without hexane and tested to be free of harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
Per softgel: borage seed oil (Borago officinalis) 1,000 mg, providing GLA 240 mg; energy 10 kcal; fat 1 g, of which polyunsaturates 0.6 g.
Other ingredients: softgel (bovine gelatin, glycerin, water).
Adults: 1 softgel once or twice a day, preferably with food. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
For adults only. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking medication (especially NSAIDs or anticoagulants) or have a medical condition. Keep out of reach of children. A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Store in a cool, dry place.
