Description

NOW Foods Prenatal Gels + DHA is a multivitamin and mineral formula for women planning a pregnancy, pregnant or breastfeeding. It provides 600 µg DFE of folate as active L-methylfolate, 27 mg of iron, iodine, vitamin D3, choline and 250 mg of DHA from fish oil in each daily serving.

Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status; low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus (beneficial effect with 400 µg supplemental folic acid a day for at least one month before and up to three months after conception).
Maternal intake of DHA contributes to the normal brain and eye development of the foetus and breastfed infants (beneficial effect with 200 mg of DHA a day in addition to the recommended omega-3 intake for adults of 250 mg DHA + EPA).
Iron contributes to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin; iodine to normal thyroid function.

Per 3 softgels: vitamin A (beta-carotene) 750 µg; vitamin C 120 mg; vitamin D3 15 µg (600 IU); vitamin E 67 mg; vitamin K1 120 µg; vitamin K2 45 µg; thiamin 5 mg; riboflavin 5 mg; niacin 16 mg; vitamin B-6 10 mg; folate 600 µg DFE (353 µg L-5-MTHF calcium salt); vitamin B-12 (methylcobalamin) 120 µg; biotin 300 µg; pantothenic acid 20 mg; choline 10 mg; calcium 400 mg; iron (ferrous bisglycinate) 27 mg; iodine 150 µg; magnesium 200 mg; zinc 15 mg; selenium 70 µg; copper 2 mg; manganese 2 mg; chromium 60 µg; molybdenum 50 µg; fish oil concentrate 500 mg, providing DHA 250 mg and EPA 90 mg; inositol 10 mg; lutein 500 µg; lycopene 350 µg; energy 15 kcal; fat 1.5 g.

Other ingredients: softgel (bovine gelatin, glycerin, water, carob), rice bran oil, beeswax, potassium sulphate, soy lecithin, lemon oil.

Allergens: contains fish (tuna, anchovies) and soy.

Directions

3 softgels a day with food. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
