Description
NOW Real Food® Xylitol is a pure, granulated sugar alcohol that tastes and measures like sugar, spoon for spoon, but has around one-third fewer calories and a low glycaemic impact. Unlike sugar it does not feed the bacteria that cause tooth decay. NOW's xylitol is made from non-GMO corn cobs that would otherwise go to waste – a more sustainable source than birch bark. Vegan.
Xylitol in place of sugar: consumption of foods containing xylitol instead of sugar induces a lower blood glucose rise after meals compared to sugar-containing foods.

Directions
Use in place of sugar, 1:1, in drinks, desserts and baking (it does not caramelise and yeast cannot ferment it).
Warnings
Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect – reduce the amount if this occurs. People with cardiovascular disease, a blood clotting disorder or impaired kidney function should consult a doctor. Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs, ferrets and rabbits – store out of their reach and seek veterinary help immediately if ingestion is suspected. Packed in a peanut-free facility that handles tree nuts.
Food supplement. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Keep out of reach of young children.
