NOW Foods Kelp 150 mcg provides iodine from organic whole-plant kelp in a small coated tablet – 100% of the daily reference intake in one tablet. Kelp is a large brown seaweed that grows in underwater "forests" in the cold waters of the world's oceans. A traditional food in Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisine, it is one of the richest natural sources of iodine.
Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal cognitive function and to the maintenance of normal skin.
Per tablet: iodine (from 30 mg organic kelp, Laminaria spp., whole plant) 150 µg.
Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, vegetarian coating (hypromellose, stearic acid, sunflower lecithin, triethyl citrate, sunflower oil), ascorbyl palmitate.
Adults: 1 tablet a day with a meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
For adults only. People with thyroid disease or taking thyroid medication, and those taking other iodine supplements, should consult a doctor before use. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep out of reach of children. A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Store in a cool, dry place.
